Car history: |
1) Elderly Owner is selling his keeper due to a physical handicap that precludes his ability to physically fit into and enjoy this car which he has owned since 1982. It is believed he is the 3rd owner having acquired this from his Father. The color is burgundy over beige leather hides. Removeable paint-to-match T-roof panels. Automatic Transmission. Power everything. 57k original miles. Updated mechanicals. AC is complete, but does not blow cold and likely needs updated freon. New OEM Dash Pad and door trim panels installed. Rear end was rebuilt for elderly owner by a Nascar consultant who is in the car club. According to the elderly owner everything works except the clock. On further checking, the lift-up wiper cowl panel that lifts when the wipers on is not lifting properly. Club mechanic believes this is the result of a bad hose, disconnected hose, or a bad vaccum actuator which is readily cost effectively available. As the owner hasn't driven his car in the rain in over 20 years or so, this was never an issue worthy of redress. The Right headlight door has a vibration evident. It is probably just loose with age and should be a minor fix. The car was completely professionally repainted at some point in the mid 80's from Dark Green Metallic to its current (attractive) burgundy color. There is some checking in the paint and minor damage on top of the hood that will require paintwork. An overall refinish in this color would make this example stunning. Vehicle has been sitting in climate-controlled garage and could use detailing. A test-drive revealed the suspension to be very tight. Owner indicates that he was advised that for age of this sports car, the front bushings. may require replacement as a maintenance item. Something typical to this vintage. No accident history. Always a Southern vehicle. These split-bumper examples continue to climb in value as the next choice collectible. Get this before it goes to auction. Owner will provide any other information and documentation that he has kept on this car in his 35-year ownership. Owner is leaning toward a big-block auction but elected to opt for eBay to see if a reasonable price obtained. All details provided are believed to be accurate to the best of the elderly owner's knowledge. Please direct any questions to c/o Chris (AACA Car Club Member/Appraiser). Few things omitted from the ad worthy of note here: Stereo is aftermarket, not factory original. Works fine. Original radio long-gone. Rt Rear Sidemarker Lens is missing. No one noticed this perhaps because it's located just beneath where the right rear bumper end wraps around the quarter area. Both Door Trim Panels were newly replaced, but the elderly owner did not have the broken/missing door pull-straps to re-install. These are available and inexpensive from any of the Corvette part suppliers in the correct saddle color. Omitted from my description is that the exhaust is brand new all the way up to the exhaust manifolds. Looks new/runs/sounds/performs flawlessly. Undercarriage view is very dry, sign its been kept indoors. There is a light coat of surface rust scale there BECAUSE the car has been kept indoors. This is something that will lightly sand off and painted just fine with a rattle can. Vehicle is a factory AC car, but the compressor has been removed. All hardware/hoses/brackets are there and intact. An overall paint job is suggested. This will remedy any misc. scratches, dings, cracks or missing paint. This IS a solid low mileage original car. BiN $15,000 but reached $13,700 (RnM) on March 8, 2017. |
